Be the change in the hospitality industry

As a curious child, I was always excited to discover something new, and whenever I had a new idea, I wanted to try it. Business ideas always sprouted in my imagination as I interacted with different people and observed everyday life.

When I started working to help my parents, I tried to learn and be guided by people who had already worked in this field. I often found myself asking these smart people for advice, but they were always either too busy or stuck in their own little bubble, working hard to survive. They couldn’t take the time to teach me the ropes or guide me on my career path. Growing up in this environment was different for me.

Although I couldn’t lean on others for knowledge, I had my mother, who was extremely positive and supportive. I call her my hero because she constantly pushed and guided me to follow my dreams. She was the one who put me on the right path and helped me develop strong habits that then supported my career path.

Now that I have gained years of experience and reached this next level, I want to be the person who goes out of their way to offer advice, guidance and assistance to anyone who needs it, without they ask me first. I try to make knowledge accessible to anyone curious enough to seek it. It’s about being able to make a difference in people’s lives.

I need to share the knowledge I have acquired over the past 25 years because everyone needs someone who can inspire them to take that risk, guide them to their dream or teach them something new. This is the main reason why I started writing this book, to impact the world by bringing new solutions within the hospitality industry and ultimately leaving a legacy for the next generation.

Becoming a role model for my children and the younger generation is very close to my heart. There are many people who have incredible stories, knowledge, and lessons to share with the world, but they find it extremely difficult to do so. I believe that once everyone shares their struggles, learnings, and efforts, it can help others learn. When we share, we ultimately feel happier and more positive. However, not everyone is comfortable becoming so vulnerable and it is because they fear judgment from others, feel uncomfortable sharing their past shortcomings or they don’t want to be replaced by someone who can do their job better than them. I firmly believe that only by sharing our wisdom can the next generation learn from our mistakes and our lessons and be even more successful than us.
